Kurdish is not a single language. The two main dialects are Sorani (Central Kurdish) and Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish). They are not mutually intelligible. Sorani is spoken primarily in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and parts of Iran, and uses the Arabic script. Kurmanji is spoken in Turkey, Syria, and parts of Iran, and uses the Latin alphabet. Many agencies make the mistake of assigning a Kurmanji speaker to a Sorani-speaking client. We don’t. We always confirm the dialect and match accordingly.
